Interpreting versus translating

Both interpreters and translators are professionals in the field of communication. It is the channel they use that makes them different.

An interpreter works verbally, listening to what is stated in the original language, interpreting its meaning and nuances and conveying it orally in another language.

A translator works in written communication. The job is the similar, but the message is in written form.
